严格意义上来说，Aleo 并不算什么新项目，其创始团队组建于 2019 年。在用了近两年时间完成了底层协议框架的开发后，Aleo 于 2021 年 4 月完成了 2800 万美元 A 轮融资，a16z 领投，Placeholder VC、Galaxy Digital、Variant Fund、Coinbase Ventures、Ethereal Ventures、Polychain Capital、Slow Ventures、Dekrypt Capital、Scalar Capital、Zero Knowledge Validator、Coinbase 前首席技术官 Balaji Srinivasan 等参投。
Aleo 诞生于实现不可能的愿望 - 在网络上建立真正个人和真正私密的用户体验。
Aleo 是第一个提供完全私有应用程序的平台。
Aleo 通过利用去中心化系统和零知识加密来保护网络上的用户数据来实现这一目标。Aleo 的核心是为用户和应用程序开发人员提供具有绝对隐私的无限计算。

今年 2 月，Aleo 又完成了 2 亿美元的B轮融资，SoftBank、Kora Management 领投，a16z 继续跟投、Tiger Global、Samsung Ventures 等参投。
Aleo 的定位是支持智能合约的隐私型 Layer1，其技术核心在于 Zexe 和 Leo 两个核心板块，Zexe 共识协议在 ZeroCash 原有的 zk-snarks 技术上进行改进，不仅可以加密单纯的 token 转账交易，也可以应用层面的互动交易；Leo 作为 Aleo 生态的编程语言，可将 Zexe 共识协议的 zk-snarks 设置模块化，使得任何在 Aleo 平台上运作的 Dapp 都可以使用 zk-snarks。
值得一提的是，Aleo 第一季度时曾与区块链游戏平台 Forte（去年一年融了 9 亿多美元）达成合作，后者将借助 Aleo 的解决方案将零知识证明带入链游。
此前，Aleo 已完成了两轮 testnet 测试工作，最近第三轮测试也已经开始了。待第三轮测试完成后，Aleo 也将进入主网发布阶段，届时其代币也将同步释放，此前 Aleo 已披露其代币将采用减半式的通胀模型。

Aleo Testnet 3 将分三 (3) 个阶段发布，以下是每个阶段的亮点摘要。
第 1 阶段 - 开发人员（2022 年 8 月）
开发人员可以开始编写、部署和执行程序。
Aleo 团队使用创世信标引导网络。
第 2 阶段 - 证明者（2022 年 9 月）
证明者开始解决 coinbase 谜题 (PoSW) 以获得积分。
Aleo 团队启动了 snarkOS 和 snarkVM 的漏洞赏金计划。
第 3 阶段 - 验证者（2022 年 10 月）
验证者开始生产区块并获得奖励。
拥有 100 万 Aleo 积分的证明者将能够成为验证者。
Aleo 团队将使用 AleoBFT 为第 3 阶段引导网络。
AleoBFT：一种新的共识混合架构
在 Testnet 3 的过程中，Aleo 将把它的共识模型转变为一种混合架构，用于证明者和验证者，称为 AleoBFT。首先，AleoBFT 保证每个区块的即时确定性。其次，AleoBFT 确保网络保持充分去中心化。第三，AleoBFT 激励证明会随着时间的推移扩大 Aleo 生态系统的证明能力。
与当今的网络技术不同，零知识密码学为安全、合规和公平的网络奠定了基础。基于该技术构建的新 Web 标准为用户提供了选择，并将减轻数据泄露的影响。
首先，零知识使 Web 服务安全。其次，零知识使 Web 服务兼容。第三，零知识使网络服务公平。
Web 服务不应该为了提供有价值的体验而拥有用户的数据。用户应该能够在不知道其个人信息的情况下与 Web 服务进行交互。
与寻求替代它的现有解决方案不同，Aleo 旨在与之集成。对于用户，Aleo 引入了真正个人化和真正私密的新体验。对于开发人员，Aleo 引入了一种与现有 Web 应用程序集成的编程模型。随着 Aleo 生态系统向其主网上线迈进，ALEO爆发出来的潜力不亚于APTOS，值得关注。
加密货币市场的暴跌进一步确定了熊市的到来。但不同加密公司有着不同的应对之道，有的决定大举扩张，有的只能裁员收缩应对，正如老话所言：潮水退了才知道谁在裸泳。只有对未来具有足够的思虑周全，才会有充足准备来应对眼前暂时苦难，甚至可以逆势扩张。
