2012年，英国将迎来以世人瞩目的伦敦奥运会，而在伦敦奥运会申办之初，英国国家彩票就已经开始了筹集公益金用于伦敦奥运会的筹备工作。作为世界上的彩票大国，英国国家彩票预计将为伦敦奥运会筹集18.35亿英镑，占到总预算93.25亿英镑的20%，将对成功举办产生重要影响。

英国奥运彩票分配机构的网站设计的非常简单，进入首页就可以看到非常醒目的两行文字，“利用国家彩票公益金支持伦敦奥运会和残奥会”，表明了这个组织设立的目的和宗旨。图片窗不停地变换着奥林匹克公园、奥林匹克体育场、水上中心、手球馆、自行车公园、曲棍球中心、全国各地直播点等的照片，这些奥运场馆和设施都是利用彩票所筹集的公益金兴建的。首页的右侧有一个跑道的图案，下面的解释说明：目标是为2012年奥运会筹集18.35亿英镑的公益金。此外，英国奥运彩票分配机构在最近几年的7月中下旬，都会向社会公布过去一年的“成绩单”，接受社会的监督。

就今年的5月4日，英国中东部地区一项关于“关心无家可归者”的电影项目举行了庆祝仪式，项目顺利进展得益于英国彩票基金组织(BIG)资助的9541英镑彩票公益金。另外一个获得资助的团队是来自科比的洛奇公园耆英会，他们将用6185英镑彩票公益金资助给社区老人，为他们提供学习机会、短途旅游和娱乐活动。同时，在北安普顿郡，凯特琳公民咨询局将用他们得到的4815英镑彩票公益金建立图书馆外延服务，帮助那些不能进入图书馆的人们，以便为该地区的更多居民服务。6 Z' \, ^, h6 ?7 E
