" U: N) P6 ] _9 ^& O 塔韦拉斯弄至如斯田地，其实等同自毁前程。2001年11月，美国航空公司第587号班机在纽约皇后区坠毁，造成265人罹难。当时年轻有为的律师塔韦拉斯即代表死者家属索偿，从此声名大噪。她执业期间有客户400个，每年赚50万美元。她又上电视及电台讨论法律问题，著书教女性如何在法院体系中应付赖债不还的人，并且不时给拉美文化网站撰稿。2000年，她在《纽约每日新闻》的“守护二十一世纪的二十一位纽约人”榜上有名。而她目前在明尼苏达州一间电话服务中心工作。
